Gadchiroli students return after meeting Prez Murmu | Nagpur News

Nagpur: A batch of tribal students from Gadchiroli’s govt ashram schools are back after an educational tour of Delhi, where they met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Before they left, CM and Gadchiroli guardian minister Devendra Fadnavis had personally seen them off at the airport.The tribal development department funded the Delhi tour for 96 tribal students from govt ashram schools in Gadchiroli, Aheri and Bhamragad under district’s annual tribal sub-plan. Separately, the social justice and special assistance department has sent 360 students from Gadchiroli’s govt residential schools on similar tours over past 3 years, to Hyderabad and Bengaluru in last 2 years, and to Delhi this year.At Rashtrapati Bhavan, a student from Potegaon told President Murmu, “I want to become a teacher.” Murmu asked the students about their villages, education and goals, and urged them to dream big and work towards their goals with persistence. The students also visited Parliament, PM Museum, National Science Centre, IIT Delhi, Jantar Mantar, Rajghat, Red Fort, Qutub Minar and National Zoological Park.ZP Gadchiroli separately runs Mission Jikitur, which takes top scorers from its scholarship exam on educational tours. A batch of these students flew to Mumbai, where they met state chief secretary and Gadchiroli guardian secretary Rajesh Aggarwal and spoke of their ambitions to become teachers, doctors, collectors and police officers.
