Worm Allegedly Found in Sambar at Mangaluru Kitchen, Nagpur

Nagpur: A social media post alleging that a customer found a worm in the sambar served at Mangaluru Kitchen in Vardhman Nagar has gone viral, raising concerns over food hygiene and safety.

According to the viral post, the customer claimed to have discovered a worm in the sambar served with the meal. Photographs of the food along with the complaint were shared on social media, triggering widespread reactions and prompting questions about hygiene standards at the restaurant.

Nagpur Today contacted the restaurant’s management to verify the claims.

Speaking to Nagpur Today, the restaurant’s manager confirmed that a complaint of this nature had been received. According to the management, immediate action was taken after the complaint was brought to their notice. The restaurant was voluntarily closed for approximately eight hours, during which the entire premises underwent deep cleaning, pest control, and additional sanitation measures in accordance with food safety protocols.

The manager also stated that, as of the time of publishing this report, no Food and Drug Administration (FDA) team had visited the restaurant for an inspection.

While the customer’s allegation has generated significant discussion on social media, no official findings have yet been released by the authorities.

It now remains to be seen whether the FDA or any other concerned department initiates an inspection or takes further action in the matter.
