Labour Minister Vivek says Advanced Technology Centres will boost employability among youngsters

Minister for Labour, Employment and Training, G. Vivek Venkataswamy, said that the State government is establishing Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) across all 119 Assembly constituencies to equip youth with cutting-edge technology, industry-oriented skills and make them future-ready.

He performed the bhoomi puja for an ATC at Rudrangi in Rajanna Sircilla district on Tuesday. The centre is being established at an estimated cost of ₹45.15 crore. Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas was present.

The Minister said that the government was building a comprehensive ecosystem to support students in skill training and ensure placements. The Congress government transformed the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into ATCs to enhance the employability of youth.

The initiative seeks to modernise skill development and create employment opportunities in view of the rapidly changing job market driven by emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Electric Vehicles, Robotics and Drones, he said.

He said the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) was working to ensure skilled youth get jobs abroad.

He assured that a German language trainer would be deputed to Rudrangi if 100 eligible youth were identified, adding that  TOMCOM would facilitate overseas placements for those who successfully complete the training.
