Nagpur teen cricketer dies by suicide after selection setback

Aditi Chaukhande, a 17-year-old aspiring cricketer from Maharashtra’s Nagpur, reportedly died by suicide after missing selection to a higher-level team. Police said her note to her brother read, “Make our parents proud. I am sad I couldn’t be selected.” Investigating officer Chetan Chauhan said she “seems to have taken the drastic step due to disappointment over not getting selected.”
