PM Modi Becomes India’s Longest-Serving Head of Government

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made history by becoming India’s longest-serving head of government, marking an impressive 8,931 days in office. This milestone surpasses the previous record held by former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, who served for 8,930 days.

The achievement highlights PM Modi’s enduring leadership and commitment to public service since he first took office. As the only Prime Minister born after India’s independence, he has successfully led his party to three consecutive Lok Sabha victories in 2014, 2019, and 2024.

Leaders from across the political spectrum have extended their congratulations. Jagan Mohan Reddy, President of YSR Congress Party, shared his wishes on X: “Heartfelt congratulations to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji on completing 8,931 days as Head of Government and setting a historic milestone in dedicated public service.”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also praised PM Modi for his role in steering the state towards prosperity. He stated that under Modi’s guidance, the government aims to fulfill the aspirations of Uttarakhand’s citizens while emphasizing sustainable development.

This accomplishment comes alongside another significant feat: PM Modi recently surpassed 30 million subscribers on YouTube, making him the most-followed world leader on the platform. His digital engagement is unmatched; he boasts more than seven times the subscribers compared to US President Donald Trump and far exceeds former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
