IAF Officer’s Wife Alleges Drugging, Rape and Forced Conversion; 3 Booked in Nagpur

Nagpur Police have registered an FIR against Ayyaz Taj Madare (26), his associate Ameen Shaikh (30) and a Madhya Pradesh-based cleric identified as Hazrat Maulana on a complaint by a 24-year-old woman, wife of an Indian Air Force personnel, who has alleged that she was drugged, raped, blackmailed with obscene videos, extorted of over Rs 3 lakh and pressured to convert her religion.

Police have arrested Madare and Shaikh, while Hazrat Maulana remains absconding.

The case has drawn attention after a video purportedly showing the woman pleading to be released while Madare holds her hands and chants religious verses surfaced on social media.

Police have said the video was submitted by the complainant as evidence and is being verified as part of the investigation.

According to the complaint filed on June 13, 2026, the woman, who works in the property business, was contacted by Madare, who was also her schoolmate, in February 2025 on the pretext of purchasing a plot. She alleged that he called her to a hotel on Wardha Road, served her juice laced with an intoxicating substance and raped her after she lost consciousness. The woman further alleged that Madare recorded photographs and videos of the assault and later used them to blackmail her.

The complainant told police that the accused threatened to circulate the videos and share them with her husband, who is posted outside Nagpur with the Indian Air Force. She alleged that the threats were used to repeatedly sexually exploit her and extort money from her. According to the complaint, the accused collected more than Rs 3 lakh from her.

A key allegation in the FIR concerns an alleged attempt to convert the woman. According to police, the complainant alleged that on May 31, she was taken to Kalmeshwar, where Hazrat Maulana conducted rituals and allegedly forced her to repeatedly say “Qabul hai”. She claimed that she was declared converted and married to Madare against her will. The woman has further alleged that she was forced to eat meat and was subsequently taken to a hotel where she was raped again.

The FIR also contains allegations that the accused subjected her to acts described as hypnosis and black magic. Police have consequently invoked provisions of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, along with offences relating to rape, extortion, criminal intimidation and attempted religious conversion.

Police said they are examining electronic devices, financial transactions and the viral video while recording witness statements. The investigation is ongoing.
