U.S. President Donald Trump is set to leave a lasting imprint on Hyderabad, with a prominent road adjoining the United States Consulate in the city soon to be named ‘Donald Trump Avenue’.
Name to be formally unveiled on June 23
The Telangana government is expected to formally unveil the new road name on June 23, ahead of the U.S. Independence Day celebrations on July 4, as part of a high-profile event celebrating the growing partnership between Telangana and the United States.
The event is expected to be attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the United States Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, along with senior government officials, diplomats, and industry leaders.
The road, located near the U.S. Consulate in Cyberabad, is expected to become a symbolic landmark reflecting the close economic, technological and diplomatic ties between Hyderabad and the US.
The move comes as the Chief Minister fulfils an assurance he made in December 2025 while addressing the annual U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) where he highlighted Telangana’s commitment to recognise contributions that have helped position Hyderabad as one of the world’s leading technology and innovation hubs.
Government sources said the naming of Donald Trump Avenue is in line with the State’s broader vision of honouring international leaders and institutions associated with Hyderabad’s growth story. The city has emerged as a major destination for American investments, particularly in the technology and global capability centre (GCC) sectors.
Over the years, Hyderabad has attracted several leading U.S. corporations, making it one of the most preferred investment destinations in India. The State government believes the new landmark will further reinforce the strong relationship between Telangana and the United States while highlighting Hyderabad’s growing global profile.
Global companies’ presence in Hyderabad
Several Fortune 500 companies, including Costco Wholesale, Eli Lilly, HCA Healthcare, McDonald’s and Nationwide, have either established or announced technology centres and GCCs in Hyderabad in recent years. Other major American firms operating from the city include Vanguard, US Bancorp, T-Mobile, LPL Financial and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.
